Kelsey Stewart Signs the Charge

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX (July 18, 2017) –– Texas Charge General Manager Scott Smith announced today the signing of former USSSA Pride player Kelsey Stewart. The infielder has signed through the 2019 season.

 

Kelsey Stewart, a Wichita, KS native, was first drafted by the USSSA Pride as the 12th overall pick in the 2016 NPF Draft from the University of Florida. This is her rookie season.

 

The former Florida Gator completed her career at Florida as a two-time All-American (2014 & 2015) and back-to-back WCWS National Champion (2014 & 2015). Stewart ranks 3rd in Gator history with 201 runs scored and owns two of the three 30+ steal and 100+ hit seasons in UF history. When she was a sophomore, she set a school record of 102 hits in a season. Her .417 career batting average and .476 on-base percentage are the best in UF program history (minimum 200 at-bats).
