 HEADLINE: Charge signs Dallas Escobedo after Pennsylvania Rebellion folds.
New Braunfels, TX – January 16th, 2017 – Texas Charge General Manager Scott Smith signs new Texas Charge player Dallas Escobedo through the 2018 season.
Dallas Escobedo, from Glendale, Arizona comes to the Texas Charge as an Arizona State standout in the circle. Her over all career as a sun devil Escobedo was 115-26 with a .815 winning percentage. She accumulated a 2.1 ERA with 1,222 strike outs. She was also the 14th player in PAC-12 history to accomplish 1,000 strikeouts.
Her freshman year Escobedo was named 1st team All-American, 1st team All PAC-10 and PAC-10 Freshman of the Year. She had a 1.51 ERA with in 255 innings pitched and 324 strike outs. Her record in 2011 as a freshman was 37-3.
Her sophomore year in 2012 Escobedo was named 2nd team NFCA All-West Region, 1st team PAC-12 All-Conference and pitched her first career no-hitter. She had a 2.32 ERA, with 211 innings pitched, and 237 strike outs. She was overall 24-8 for her sophomore season.
Her junior and senior year she threw her 2nd and 3rd no hitters of her career. She was named to the NFCA All-American 2nd team both years as well as the Pac-12 All-Conference 1st team and NFCA All-Region 1st team. She was a top 10 finalist for USA Softball player of the year and the 2014 NPF number overall pick of the draft.
Last season for the Rebellion, Escobedo was 4-8 with 82.2 innings pitched and had an ERA of 2.63. This will be her fourth season in the league.
